Early Learning Centre

Nurturing curious young explorers to work collaboratively and develop an understanding of the world around them

OUR PRESCHOOL

"At Little Flower School
  We Call This
  The Learning Journey "

Our Early Learning Centre (ELC) aims to provide a warm, secure and stimulating preschool environment for children aged 1-5. Using the Cambridge Early Years Learning Framework and the Reggio Emilia Philosophy, our students are exposed to a variety of learning experiences.

Our approach focuses on child-centred, inquiry based learning, where children learn through real life and hands-on experiences. Learners are given rich opportunities to explore, discover and construct knowledge through many different modes of learning to deepen their own understanding.
Each child’s learning is documented every step of the way, shared daily through digital means and classroom displays. We aim to create ‘meaningful conversations’ between the child, the parent and the teacher. By doing this, a valuable learning link between school and home is provided, supporting their growth as lifelong learners.

WHY CHOOSE OUR PRESCHOOL?

ENVIRONMENT AS THE
3RD TEACHER

The Reggio Environment creates ‘a feeling of belonging in a world that is alive, welcoming and authentic’. We embrace nature, as we place emphasis in providing learners a natural atmosphere that invites exploration, communication and collaboration.

INTERNATIONALLY PROVEN CURRICULUM

The Early Years Learning Framework is the national Early Childhood Education framework of Italy. It draws upon conclusive international evidence that early childhood is a vital period in a child’s learning and development

TEACHER AND CHILD DIRECTED ACTIVITIES

Our play-based activities encourages children to take risks, ask questions, make mistakes and share ideas. These activities stimulate a child’s imagination, creativity, decision making and helps develop crucial early language and numeracy skills.

LEARNING AT OUR PRESCHOOL

We encourage each child to take charge of their own learning by following their interests and in turn, develop the skills necessary for their future. To do this, we provide opportunities for them to question, inquire, play and explore while making real life connections with their community and the environment.

Here are some of learning opportunities in which your child will participate:

LITERACY

Developing skills such as reading, writing and speech through exposure, multi-sensory and hands-on approach

NUMERACY
